In 2002, he joined the CEA as a postdoctoral fellow, developing semiconducting polymers for organic photovoltaics, before being appointed as a permanent researcher at CEA-Grenoble in the Fundamental Research Division in 2005. His research focuses on the synthesis and the characterisation of new pi-conjugated molecules, and macromolecules for use in organic and hybrid photovoltaics and (opto)electronics.

In 2019, he received an Advanced Grant from the European Research Council (ERC) to develop photochromic solar cells. Throughout his career, he has published over 110 articles, and received several awards including the 'Innovation in Chemistry for Energy' prize from the French Society of Chemistry (SCF) and the 'Ivan Peyches' prize from the French Academy of 新月直播app下载s. In 2025, his team won the 'Materials Chemistry Horizon Prize: Stephanie L. Kwolek Prize' from the 新月直播app下载 (RSC).
