Published in line with the themes of the , this themed collection across Materials Horizons, Journal of Materials Chemistry B, Materials Advances, Biomaterials 新月直播app下载 and Lab on a Chip will showcase the latest research developments in bio fabrication materials and technologies with applications in healthcare.

Positioned at the intersection of chemistry, materials science, biology, and engineering, bio fabrication is a rapidly advancing field transforming our capacity to design and manufacture functional living systems for regenerative medicine, disease modelling, and drug discovery. This special collection will highlight breakthroughs in printable and stimuli-responsive biomaterials, cell-laden bioinks, advanced in vitro systems (focusing on organoids and organ-on-a-chip models), microfluidic platforms that are redefining how human tissues are created and studied, and 3D/4D printing processes for designing materials for applications in tissue engineering, drug delivery and bone scaffolds.

Emphasizing the convergence of chemistry, biology, advanced manufacturing, and digital technologies, the collection aims to showcase transformative innovations driving scalable, personalized, and clinically relevant bio fabrication solutions for next-generation healthcare.

Please note that this open call is open to primary research submissions only.

Authors are encouraged to select the journal that best fits the scope of their work and we encourage you to see the journal鈥檚 website for more information on the journal鈥檚 scope, standards, article types and author guidelines. All manuscripts will undergo the normal initial assessment and peer review processes, if appropriate, in line with the journal鈥檚 high standards, managed by the journal editors.
